We've got a dilemma. We like our house. It is a great size, the layout works great for us, everyone has their own bedroom, we have a home gym and a three car garage. We live three houses away from the elementary school our kids attend.
But...we are always looking to see if there is something better out there. Something on the "right side of the tracks'. Something with a basement. Something close, where my kids can still go to there school. Something that isn't so close to refineries and Stericycle. Something that isn't in the middle of the industrial part of the city. We may have found THAT house.
This beauty meets most of the criteria on our wish-list. It has a usable yard, a pretty great kitchen (with double ovens!), a mud area, five or six bedrooms, a large dining area, a basement, an area for a home gym. But, there are a few drawbacks. There is only a two-car garage and right now, we have three cars. The basement has a funky layout. The family rooms are smaller. There is no room for a swing set. The biggest drawback is the price. It is significantly more than our home now. We can afford it, but should we do it? So many questions.
It also scares me a little to think about leaving our home. We built this house when Derek was born. We brought Dylan and Lucas home from the hospital here. All three boys have learned to crawl and walk here. There is a lot of room to play catch in the backyard. But...is it time for a change. I guess "only time will tell".
